Bringing you inspiration for your magical day
The rain didn't damper these two love bird’s special day. Patricia and Adrian said, "I do" surrounded by all their loved ones at the beautiful Grandberry Hills on Martin Luther King Day! They both were a pleasure to work with and you can most certainly feel the unconditional love this couple has for one another. I knew that these lovely ladies are avid travelers and love seeing the world together. After some collaboration with the couple, we came up with the idea of a traveled-themed wedding. Now it was time to bring their vision to life; hand painted wine bottles, Mini globes and paper flowers made from maps were placed at each table. Each table was proudly named after places where the couple had previously travelled together –Haiti, San Juan, and Italy to name a few. Instead of traditional seating cards, we replicated a map and utilized that as the formal seating chart. No detail was overlooked on this magical evening!
About a month ago, one of my close friend's Abryanna, the owner of Dessa Event Planning asked me to take senior photos for her little sister Cece. Cece and her parents currently live in Brooklyn, NY, but were traveling to the midwest to do a college tour at Purdue University. She was accepted to over four universities, including Purdue and Michigan State!
On the day of the shoot Breeauna Bruce MUA did Cece's makeup, she did SUCH an amazing job! Breeauna really knows how to work with all skin tones, the airbrushing was perfect! Cece then got dressed and we mocked up a little studio in Abryanna's garage! Cece had SO MANY outfits, like literally 8 different outfits, she probably had one suitcase full of outfits just for the photoshoot. Each outfit was perfect though, and matched her personality, fun and confident! We went to downtown Aurora to get a few outdoor shots. I love brick walls, stairs, and vines and downtown Aurora did not disappoint. The session was so much fun. I can't wait to see the great things Cece accomplishes!
Over the weekend I got the chance to catch up with my good friend Carly! I always have such a great time photographing her! She's so good in front of the camera. We did an impromptu photo session right in my office at home. I think the photos turned out great! She had this beautiful black dress that I LOVED on her, the back of the dress was so pretty! When editing I experimented with B&W filters and I really like the way it came out! The black and white photos create a classic timeless feel, but I love the way Carly's eyes pop in the color photos! do you think? Do you like the photos in color or B&W?
On November 19, 2016 we were honored with capturing the love story of Emily and Dustin. This amazing couple came to us as a referral from Dessa Event Planning. I remember the day that I spoke to Emily on the phone like it was yesterday. We had been in contact for a few weeks and tried to meet up, but since she just had a baby it was a little difficult to find time to meet. Let me repeat that, she JUST had a baby not to long ago! Emily looks amazing post baby doesn't she? Anyway, Emily told me all the details of their day and I knew this wedding would be filled with so much love from their friends and family. Their special day began at the Chapel on the Green in Yorkville, IL. The Chapel was straight out of an old 1960's movie, with beautiful chandeliers and a balcony over looking the entire ceremony. It was such a chilly day it must have been 10 degrees outside, but that didn't stop the bridal party from taking a few pictures after the ceremony.
The reception was held at the Kendall County Fairgrounds and was perfect for Emily's Country Chic theme! The entire reception had icicle lights and created the perfect romantic atmosphere. Emily and Dustin had one of the most unique wedding desserts I have ever seen, they had over four tiers of donuts for guests to devour! It was seriously jaw-dropping! Another one of my favorite parts of their wedding was when Emily's niece followed Alan around as he was filming the speeches and first dances. She had a phone with her and took pictures next to Alan. When he kneeled Emily's niece kneeled, it was the cutest thing ever! Seems to me that she's a future videographer in the making.
Emily and Dustin's wedding was hands-down one of my favorites to film to-date. Their families were so warm and welcoming it was truly like filming the wedding of one of our family members.
Cheers to the newlyweds! Best wishes to you both!
It’s no surprise that fall is our favorite season! So when it came time to design this shoot, a fall theme was a no-brainer. We wanted to stay away from the traditional fall colors such as orange, red, and yellow.
Marsala is the star of this color palette, which also includes navy blue, dusty pink and gold accents. We also wanted to take a walk on the dark side by combining dark shades and a romantic color palette.
St. James Forest Preserve was the perfect backdrop for this shoot with its lush, woodland scenery.
Our creative team really dug deep to bring this idea to life!

On Saturday, September 24, we were honored to capture the wedding of Alondra and Kenny at Farm Friends in Big Rock, IL. Farm Friends is a not-for-profit farm that welcomes individuals with special needs to visit their farm and interact with animals. Their wedding was full of personalized motifs. Alondra had a mug with her new name, "Mrs. Robbins, " perfect for toasting with her bridesmaids as they got ready. Another personalized item was the ring holder, a tree-stump with their initials "A+K," carried by their son as he walked down the aisle. The farm had a gazebo that was the perfect setting for the ceremony; it was decorated with burlap and haystacks. After the ceremony we snuck away to take wedding party portraits in front of a beautiful pond on the farm. Alondra and Kenny kicked off their reception with their first dance. Kenny actually made the dance floor a few hours before the wedding started! It turned out amazing! After dinner, the couple cut their beautiful 2-tiered cake adorned with sunflowers, using their knife and server that also had their "A+K" initials. Once the party started, their guests danced the night away, Kenny's groomsmen were definitely the life of the party! Congrats Alondra and Kenny! Cheers to a happy marriage!

Nicole and Scott's engagement session was so much fun to capture! The weather was perfect for a fall October day! Nicole and Scott were referred to us by Dessa Event Planning and we couldn't be more happier to capture their special day next September.
On the day of our engagement/family shoot the Bidgood family came dressed out of a magazine! Nicole messaged me a few weeks before the session with outfit suggestions and she definitely did a great job coordinating everyone's outfit.
Kicking-off the session, we started by taking family photos. Their son Mikey was the cutest! He was a little reluctant to take photos at first, but when Scott offered to give him a few SweetTarts, Mikey agreed to smile for the camera. It was so funny to watch the face Mikey made because the candy was a little sour!
After the family session, Nicole's parents, who were there to give us a helping hand, watched the little ones while I whisked Nicole and Scott away for their engagement session. Immediately into the session I could tell Scott knows how to make Nicole laugh. Their playful love for one another was such a joy to watch! I'm sure their wedding day will be just as fun to capture. Congrats Nicole and Scott!

On October 9th I had the great pleasure of capturing Leti and Junior's engagement session! I connected with them a few months ago when Leti's co-worker referred her to me! Leti and Junior decided to book us to capture their wedding day and we couldn't be more thrilled! Their love for one another really shined through when I met them.
On the day of their engagement shoot, I was really hoping for more fall colors, but the leaves had not turned yet. Nevertheless, we picked a forest preserve in Woodridge and even had to park across the street at a warehouse because technically we weren't supposed to be in that area (the things we do to have the perfect photo location) ;)
Leti and Junior were naturals in front of the camera! Seriously, they are such a good-looking couple! We shared many laughs during the session especially when it was time for Junior's solo photos, he didn't want Leti to look at him and make him laugh....such lovebirds! We can't wait to capture their big day next September. Congrats Leti & Junior!
Over the weekend I had the great pleasure of photographing one of my old co-workers and good friend Carly! Ever since I started photography she's wanted to model for me. Actually, she used to model when she was younger. Now however, Carly has totally done a 360 degree change and she's studying to be a cop! She's definitely the prettiest cop I'll ever witness. :)
When we worked together at Claire's, I remembered how boho she would dress and I LOVED her style. She came to work wearing elephant patterned-print pants and they were the cutest thing ever. She pulls the look off so well! I can't wait to do more photo shoots in the future with Carly! Thanks for helping me practice my photography!!

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of capturing Claudia and Michael's Gatsby Themed engagement session. We started out the day bright and early at 7 am. Claudia envisioned a 1920's vintage themed and had her heart set on doing the photo shoot at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, Illinois. Cantigny was a great backdrop for this theme. The mansion was breathtaking and so were the gardens! The couple wanted to add that extra touch by having a T model car and we must say, that was our favorite part! The bride-to-be wore a white dress complemented by an amazing 1920's inspired headpiece. The groom-to-be looked dapper in his black vest and newsboy cap. We love doing themed photo shoots and this one was one of our favorites! As Gatsby would say, "My life has got to be like this, it's got to keep going up."
